Radhika Apte’s shocking revelation on body shaming will leave you surprised.  She recently revealed how she lost out on the role to play the leading lady in Shoojit Sircar’s Vicky Donor due to her weight. The actress on a recent chat show said that she was amongst the top contenders for the lead role in Vicky Donor.

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, on a recent chat show, the actress mentioned that she was rejected for being “overweight by a few kilos”. The actress later added, “I had gone on a holiday for a month, drank a lot of beer, ate loads of food. I had told them that I’ll come back and lose it. But they did not want to take a chance.” Eventually, the part of the leading lady in the film was bagged by Yami Gautam.

The actress also mentioned how this made her extremely conscious about the food she ate and her weight after being dropped from the film. The actress also added, “I don’t get affected by rejection at work, but the weight thing really messed with my head.”

Ayushmann Khurrana who also was present on the show with Radhika, soon defended the makers of the film. The actor said that he was quite skinny at that time and that their pairing might not have worked.
